Who we are and what we offer

The Open Thread provides educational and coaching products and services, including a book and companion materials, a self-paced digital Kit, group programs, and 1:1 coaching and intensives. Details and current prices appear on the relevant pages of the site.

Payment and pricing

Prices are listed on the site and are charged through Stripe. By purchasing, you authorize the charge shown at checkout. Coaching engagements may require a deposit or full payment in advance, as stated on the offer.

Refunds

Set this section deliberately, then have your attorney confirm it. A common, defensible stance is below. Adjust to your comfort.
  • Digital products (the $197 Kit, the journal, and similar): because access is delivered immediately and cannot be returned, these are sold as non-refundable once access is granted.
  • Coaching and intensives: deposits hold your spot and are non-refundable; rescheduling is available with reasonable notice, within 15 days. Sessions not used within 30 days may be forfeited. Coaching is not therapy or professional advice Our coaching, content, and programs are for educational and personal-development purposes. They are not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis or need clinical care, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions.

    Results and testimonials

    Any stories, testimonials, or examples reflect individual experiences and are not a promise that you will achieve the same outcome. Results depend on many factors, including your own effort and circumstances. We make no guarantee of specific results.

    Intellectual property

    All content on the site and within our products, including text, video, workbooks, and the book, is owned by The Open Thread or used with permission, and is protected by copyright. POWER Voice is our trademark. When you purchase a product, you receive a personal, non-transferable license to use it for yourself. You may not copy, share, resell, or distribute our paid materials, or post them publicly, without written permission.

    Acceptable use

    You agree to use the site and our materials lawfully and not to misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to them.

    Third-party links and services

    Our site links to third-party services such as Stripe, Calendly, Amazon, Kit, and YouTube. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those services, which have their own terms and policies.

    Limitation of liability

    To the fullest extent allowed by law, The Open Thread is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, products, or services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product or service giving rise to the claim.

    Governing law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located there, unless your attorney advises otherwise.

    We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
